Armenians in Czechia Hold Petition and Address Parliament in Support of Artsakh

The Armenian community in Czechia is raising awareness about the situation in Artsakh and Armenia through petitions, silent actions, and fundraising efforts. Haik Avetisyan, a representative of the Armenian Youth Union of Czechia, shared with "Armenians Today" that they conducted a petition in support of Artsakh and addressed the Czech Parliament.

"We organized an online petition, which gathered nearly 3,000 signatures in three days. Then we organized a paper petition to be sent to the Czech parliament for discussion, and we hope that Czechia will finally announce its position regarding the aggression faced by the population of Artsakh and the local Armenian community," stated Avetisyan.

According to the representative of the Armenian community, the initiatives are receiving positive responses in Czechia, and there’s a general tendency to trust Armenians. He noted that there have been Czechs who visited Artsakh and provided information about the situation there.

"We have received numerous letters from Czechs who are willing to help us in any way possible. There are people who have participated in sending aid to Armenia, and there are those who want to help financially. Even though we are far from you, everyone is by your side, and I am confident that many people are ready to stand with Armenians," Avetisyan explained.

The representative of the Armenian Youth Union of Czechia expressed that they are currently working towards the recognition of Artsakh.
