Addressless Calls Publicly Rejected by Azerbaijan and Turkey, Says Masis Mayilyan

In the context of the aggression against Artsakh by Azerbaijan and Turkey, the international community must take more active and effective steps, not limited to addressless calls that are publicly rejected by Azerbaijan and Turkey. This was stated by Masis Mayilyan, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Artsakh, at a joint meeting on October 19 with the heads of the foreign affairs ministries and human rights defenders of the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Artsakh, along with representatives of foreign diplomatic missions accredited in Armenia.

The Minister called on the international community to recognize the independence of the Republic of Artsakh as an effective measure to stop the military aggression unleashed by Azerbaijan and to establish stable peace in the region.

In his speech, Masis Mayilyan presented the situation created by the large-scale aggression unleashed by Azerbaijan and Turkey against the Republic of Artsakh. As an additional threat to regional peace and stability, the Minister of Foreign Affairs highlighted Turkey's direct involvement in the actions unleashed by Azerbaijan, including the transfer of foreign militant terrorists to Azerbaijan and their integration into the Azerbaijani armed forces.

The Minister emphasized that the international community cannot remain neutral in the choice between war and peace, as its indifference contributes to the isolation of the people of Artsakh. This is precisely what Azerbaijan and Turkey aim for, viewing the isolation of Artsakh as a significant element of military confrontation and aggression.

The Minister noted that during the aggression unleashed against Artsakh, the civilian population and vital infrastructure are deliberately targeted. Presenting the humanitarian situation in Artsakh and the steps being taken by the government to address it, Minister Mayilyan also underscored the necessity for various international organizations to provide direct assistance to the people of Artsakh.

Masis Mayilyan emphasized that in the current situation, the international community must take more active and effective steps, not limited to addressless calls that are publicly rejected by Azerbaijan and Turkey. The Minister called on the international community to recognize the independence of the Republic of Artsakh as an effective measure to halt the military aggression unleashed by Azerbaijan and to establish stable peace in the region.
