US Secretary of State to Host Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan This Weekend
US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo will hold separate meetings on October 23 in Washington with Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan and Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov. According to Armenpress, this information was reported by the Politico website.
It is noted that the first meeting will be with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, followed by the meeting between Pompeo and Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan.
It is also mentioned that the Azerbaijani ambassador to the US, Elin Suleymanov, did not exclude the possibility of a meeting between the foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan in Washington. The website adds that the visit of the foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan to Washington on the same day indicates that the US is stepping up efforts to defuse tensions in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone.
