No Gas or Electricity in Martakert: 30% of Residential Buildings Damaged
During the military actions unleashed by Azerbaijan against Artsakh, supported by Turkey and international terrorist networks, the city of Martakert has faced intense shelling. The shelling of villages in the Martakert region by Azerbaijani armed forces continued yesterday.
“Yesterday, the adversary fired heavy artillery and other types of weaponry at the city of Martakert and its neighboring settlements, which lasted until midnight. Following the implementation of the humanitarian ceasefire agreement at midnight, there has been calm in the city of Martakert and nearby areas. It remains calm at this moment as well. The population has never experienced panic; everyone is in a spirit of victory,” Lusine Zakaryan stated in an interview with Armenpress.
Since the first day of the war, there has been no gas in the city of Martakert, and electrical wires have also been damaged due to active shelling. “The villages very close to Martakert are in the same situation, but in other villages in the region, there is both electricity and water. Food and essential supplies are being provided to the residents of Martakert city and its surrounding villages. As a result of shelling in Martakert city, residential buildings, kindergartens, playgrounds, several private homes, and public facilities have been damaged, approximately 30% of civil buildings have sustained damage,” Lusine Zakaryan noted.
