Cultural Institutions of the Republic of Artsakh Under Fire
For twenty days, the cultural institutions of the Republic of Artsakh have been shelled with weapons prohibited by international norms during the Turkish-Azerbaijani terrorist war. So far, 18 school buildings, 6 kindergartens, and four cultural establishments have been targeted and destroyed. The dome of the Church of Saint Ghazanchetsots in Shushi has been devastated by multiple precise strikes from the enemy.
Due to the Turkish-Azerbaijani terrorism and violent aggression, the right to education for approximately 33,000 people has been violated and disrupted. 24,000 students are not attending school, 4,016 children are not in kindergarten, and 4,986 students are not enrolled in vocational schools, colleges, or universities. It is with deep sorrow that I must also note that we have had student casualties.
