Baku Rejects Agreement to Evacuate Wounded Soldiers from Battlefield, Says Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Following the agreement on a humanitarian ceasefire between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan on October 18, efforts were made, mediated by the International Committee of the Red Cross, to agree on the evacuation of wounded soldiers from the battlefield during the night. This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

However, this initiative, which was aligned with the letter and spirit of the Moscow agreements of October 17 and October 10, was categorically rejected by official Baku.

The incident indicates that the Aliyev clan, having become an instrument of Turkish expansionism in the region, is primarily concerned with maintaining its own power and, terrified of the prospect of unleashing war and facing numerous casualties before its own people, is attempting to postpone the inevitable moment of confronting reality.
