Our Sisters Have Honor: I Keep Receiving Letters from Girls Who Want to Take Up Arms and Defend the Border – Artur Hovhannisyan

“Since my morning statement, I have been continuously receiving letters from girls who want to take up arms and go defend the border. I am not surprised, as a lion’s cub does not become a lion without challenge. Our sisters have honor, and that is the guarantee of our existence,” said Artur Hovhannisyan, a representative of the Ministry of Defense of Armenia, on his Facebook page, sharing contact information.

Previously, Hovhannisyan made the following post on his Facebook page:

“In this difficult war for our existence, victory is not optional, yet achieving it will not be easy; it is heavy and depends on each of us. Each individual’s contribution is crucial to our victory. We must all ask ourselves what we have done for victory. Every day we should question ourselves. Dear brothers, driving around Yerevan with the Armenian tricolor thrown over your vehicle and blasting patriotic songs does not contribute to our victory. My female students are forming women's detachments, which is a direct step towards victory. Nari Syuni is taking specific actions for our triumph. Yesterday, a beautiful girl was pleading with me in tears to give her a martyr's assignment. Let us be worthy young men for that Armenian woman. Rise up and take action for our existence in this war. Soldiers and officers aged 18-25 have been disregarding death for all of us for 20 days; let us be deserving of them.”
