The Governor of Gegharkunik, Gnel Sanosyan, wrote on Facebook: “For already the 19th day, our people are bravely fighting against the Turkish-Azerbaijani army and Islamist extremist mercenaries. In this heavy war imposed upon us, Artsakh is in danger, as the enemy has repeatedly attacked its borders, receiving a worthy response.

In these days, the enemy's actions in certain localities of the Vardenis region have also resulted in human and material losses, but the residents of this region have not only remained hopeful or panicked but have also stood even stronger in defense of their homeland, investing everything to strengthen the front lines and the rear.

Expressing condolences for the heavy losses suffered by many families in the region and bowing before the memory of the immortal heroes, I encourage and support you, dear residents of Gegharkunik. We must fill ourselves with unwavering will and unbreakable faith in this heroic struggle for our tomorrow, victory, and peace. The future of our homeland and the perpetuity of our generations depend on each of our efforts.
