I am glad that Secretary Pompeo reaffirmed our common vision, which is that the resolution of the Azerbaijani-Karabakh conflict is possible exclusively through peaceful negotiations. This was stated by the Foreign Minister of Artsakh, Masis Mayilyan, on his Facebook page.

“It is important to ensure that Turkey stops urging Azerbaijan and international terrorists to continue their inhumane aggression against democracy. We share Secretary Pompeo's hope that Armenians will be able to defend themselves against Azerbaijan's actions. At the same time, we expect that the international community will play an active constructive role in stopping the crimes against humanity and genocidal threats posed by the triad of Turkey, Azerbaijan, and international terrorists. Recognizing the independence of the Republic of Artsakh is necessary to establish sustainable peace in the region,” Mayilyan wrote.
