Cavushoglu - Lavrov Telephone Talks on the Situation in Nagorno-Karabakh
The Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Turkey and Russia, Mevlüt Cavushoglu and Sergey Lavrov, have held telephone talks. This was reported by the TASS agency, citing the Turkish foreign policy department.
During the conversation, the current situation surrounding Nagorno-Karabakh was specifically discussed. The ministers emphasized the lack of alternatives to the peaceful resolution of the issue. The necessity for the unconditional implementation of the provisions of the Moscow statement of October 10 by the foreign ministers of the Russian Federation, the Republic of Azerbaijan, and the Republic of Armenia was reaffirmed.
Practically, the urgent need for the establishment of a ceasefire regime and the coordination of mechanisms for monitoring its maintenance was highlighted. Additionally, the importance of operational coordination of steps towards the resumption of the negotiation process within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group mechanisms was underscored to achieve real results.
