TMDPH Calls for Restraint on Flower Price Increases

The State Commission for Protection of Economic Competition of Armenia has conducted a study of the market in light of reports circulating on social media and in the press regarding the increase in prices for wreaths and certain types of flowers.

It should be noted that thousands of small greenhouse operations are involved in flower cultivation in Armenia. The market is competitive, and there are no operators in a dominant position; therefore, the State Commission for Protection of Economic Competition is not authorized to initiate proceedings under the law.

However, taking into consideration the wartime situation and the ethical aspect of the issue, we urge operators to demonstrate unity during these challenging times and to refrain from price increases.
