Michigan Legislature Adopts Resolution Condemning Azerbaijan and Turkey

The Michigan House of Representatives in the United States has adopted a resolution condemning Azerbaijan and Turkey. According to Armenpress, this was reported by the Armenian National Committee of America.

The author of the resolution is Mari Manoogian, a member of the Michigan Legislature.

It is important to note that on September 27, Azerbaijani armed forces launched a large-scale attack in Artsakh, targeting civilian populations as well. As of October 14, the Artsakh Defense Army has shot down 16 helicopters, 19 planes, 176 unmanned aerial vehicles, 521 armored vehicles, mainly tanks, 86 vehicles, 10 armored personnel carriers, as well as 4 TOS-1A heavy flamethrower systems, 4 Smerch, and 1 Uragan type multiple rocket launchers.

The opposing forces have reportedly suffered more than 5,489 casualties. Preliminary data indicate that there are 532 casualties on the Armenian side. Azerbaijani armed forces have also targeted military and civilian infrastructure in Artsakh and the Republic of Armenia, resulting in the deaths of two civilians in Gegharkunik, 31 civilians in Artsakh, and injuries to 106 civilians. Initial estimates suggest that over 6,700 private properties have been severely damaged, along with more than 640 vehicles and around 1,110 infrastructural, public, and industrial facilities.

Journalists from both foreign and local media have also been injured due to Azerbaijani artillery shelling. A state of war has been declared in Armenia and Artsakh since September 27. A ceasefire took effect on October 10 at 12:00, but Azerbaijan's armed forces conducted diversionary operations and shelled civilian areas in Artsakh after the ceasefire.
