According to Aliyev, we should have ceded territories, not status, but rather in exchange for war: Pashinyan
The Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, has sent a video message to the Armenian people, addressing the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh and Azerbaijan's demands during negotiations.
Before discussing the situation on the battlefield, Pashinyan outlined the causes and conditions that led to the war. "Azerbaijan had gradually reached a point where it was demanding that the Armenian people renounce their own rights. The essence of that demand was as follows: to immediately cede 5 out of 7 territories, to create a timeline for the transfer of the remaining two territories, and to state that any status of Artsakh must be within the framework of Azerbaijan... In other words, we were supposed to cede territories, not status, but rather in exchange for war. Azerbaijan rejected any serious discussion regarding status, essentially stating that the only status that Artsakh could have would be some autonomous entity within Azerbaijan, and thus, a framework was being established that would lead to the complete depopulation of Nagorno-Karabakh," Pashinyan stated.
The Prime Minister also reminded that at the same time, Azerbaijan was escalating its military rhetoric and promoting anti-Armenian propaganda.
