A Bill to Recognize the Republic of Artsakh Presented to the French Parliament

A bill recognizing the Republic of Artsakh has been submitted to the lower house of the French Parliament. In an interview with Armenpress, David Papazyan, the Executive Director of the Armenian National Interests Fund (ANIF), stated that significant organizational and coordinated work has been carried out recently in this direction in collaboration with his French counterparts.

"For 10 days we have been working with French Prime Minister Dominique de Villepin (a member of the ANIF Board), local journalists, and members of Parliament, explaining what has been happening along the Artsakh-Azerbaijan contact line since September 27. We also presented the roles and involvement of both Turkey and mercenaries, which completely alters the picture. We clarified that the only real political solution is the recognition of the independence of the Republic of Artsakh by the international community. And since people in the French Parliament quickly grasp the reality, the bill was introduced this morning into the lower house of the French National Assembly," Papazyan said.

The bill is expected to be discussed in the coming weeks. The first signature on the bill is from François Puppon, a representative of the Socialist Party. Papazyan expressed gratitude to his French partners who consistently provide their support for the resolution of the Artsakh issue and the restoration of justice through their pro-Armenian initiatives.

Papazyan noted that similar efforts are being made in London and Rome.
