Video: I urge the international community to strongly condemn the atrocities of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces – Abrahamyan
Gyane Abrahamyan, a member of the “My Step” faction in the National Assembly, announced that she delivered a speech at the joint seminar of the Parliamentary Assembly of “Euronest” and the local and regional authorities of the Eastern Partnership countries on the topic of "Strengthening Resilience in Eastern Partnership Countries."
"It is impossible to succeed in strengthening resilience in the Eastern Partnership when the safety of the civilian population is not guaranteed, when terrorist states do not receive an adequate response, and when weapons prohibited by the Geneva Conventions are used against the civilian population. Despite the humanitarian ceasefire announced on October 9 in Moscow, Azerbaijan continues to intensively attack our towns and villages, violating its obligations. We are now dealing with various types of war crimes, including war crimes against civilians, such as the use of prohibited cluster munitions and targeting journalists, war crimes aimed at environmental destruction, like the targeting of the Arzvanik tailings, and war crimes against cultural heritage, such as the deliberate targeting and shelling of the Ghazanchetsots Armenian church in Shushi, which was targeted twice in one day. The European Court of Human Rights has already issued two decisions regarding the urgent measures to be taken, but Azerbaijan continues to ignore them. Therefore, I call on the international community and each of you individually to strongly condemn the ongoing atrocities by the Azerbaijani Armed Forces and seek appropriate punishments for the perpetrators," the MP stated in her speech.
