Image of Beaten Woman in Stepanakert is 6 Years Old

Azerbaijani media outlets, citing a post by someone named Nune Gasparyan, have spread information claiming that an elderly woman from Stepanakert, realizing the inevitable defeat of the Armenian army in the war, hung a sign in Azerbaijani in front of her house that read 'Xoş gəlmisiniz!' (welcome). This topic was addressed by the Information Verification Center.

According to the same information, the elderly woman was brutally beaten by employees of the Armenian military police for installing the sign. As proof of the claims, news outlets attached images of the beaten woman.

The Information Verification Center reports that the information being circulated is not true. The woman's images first appeared on the internet back in 2014. The incident actually took place in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia, where the woman was assaulted by a 15-year-old teenager.
