France Concerned as Erdogan Escalates Adventures
France is concerned about Turkey's actions in the Mediterranean Sea and its potential role in the development of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, and is seeking explanations from Ankara. This was stated to reporters on Tuesday by a source from the Élysée Palace.
“The French president has already expressed concerns regarding Turkey's role in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. It is alarming that President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is escalating adventures without regard for the necessity of collective security. On this issue, we would like to receive clarifications from Turkey,” the source stated, as reported by TASS.
He added that “sending Syrian militants to the Karabakh front creates global geopolitical risks.” In this regard, the interlocutor emphasized the continuation of diplomatic efforts to prevent the escalation of the conflict in close cooperation with Russia. “It is necessary to maintain the ceasefire agreement, as it lays the groundwork for further progress. We are closely monitoring the development of the situation,” he concluded.
