Armenians in Italy Hold Peaceful Protest Requesting Recognition of Artsakh's Independence
Representatives of the Armenian community in Italy held a peaceful protest in Rome's Monte Citorio Square, requesting the Italian government recognize the independence of Artsakh and condemn the aggression of Turkey and Azerbaijan.
According to Armenpress, the protest included not only Armenians, but also Italians. "Today we have gathered to direct our message to the Italian government, urging it to curb the aggression of Turkey and Azerbaijan. We ask for the recognition of Artsakh's independence, as this is the only way to ensure a peaceful life for the inhabitants of Artsakh. Today, Italians are also with us, fighting alongside us to make their government raise its voice, for remaining silent means participating in the aggression. If necessary, we are all ready to stand by our brothers and fight for the security of our people and the people of Artsakh," stated Eva Gabrielian, a representative of the Armenian community in Italy.
The protest was also attended by Italian lawmakers. Andrea Orsini, a member of the House of Deputies' Foreign Affairs Committee, expressed his complete support for the Armenian people, while Deputy Gennaro Migliore stated that he condemns the actions of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's regime.
