Please Do Not Turn Control of Any Front Into an Active Discussion Topic: Artzrun Hovhannisyan
Once again, I ask that control of any settlement or front not be turned into an active discussion topic. This was stated by the representative of the Armenian Ministry of Defense, Artzrun Hovhannisyan.
“It is an active and intense war. Movements are happening quickly. Our troops are advancing and retreating. The Azerbaijan Armed Forces can at any moment photograph something behind a wall and claim it is theirs. Do not discuss the issue of control over this or that area in our field,” he wrote.
It should be noted that on September 27, Azerbaijani forces launched a large-scale attack on Artsakh, targeting also peaceful civilians. As of October 11, the Artsakh forces have shot down 16 helicopters, 17 airplanes, 165 drones, and 510 armored vehicles, mainly tanks, along with 86 vehicles, 10 armored personnel carriers, 4 TOS-1A heavy flamethrower systems, 4 Smerch, and 1 Uragan multiple rocket launcher systems.
The adversary has suffered over 4,719 casualties. On the Armenian side, preliminary data indicates there are 525 casualties. The Azerbaijani armed forces have also targeted military and civilian infrastructure in Artsakh and the Republic of Armenia, resulting in the deaths of 2 civilians in Gegharkunik, 25 civilians in Artsakh, and injuries to 102 civilians with approximately 5,800 properties and infrastructures damaged.
Journalists from both foreign and local media have been injured due to Azerbaijani shelling. A state of war was declared in Armenia and Artsakh on September 27. A ceasefire came into effect as of October 10 at 12:00 PM; however, Azerbaijani forces carried out diversionary actions after the ceasefire, also shelling peaceful settlements in Artsakh.
