Pashinyan to Address the Public Soon, Says Alen Simonyan
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan will address the public soon and provide information regarding the current situation on the frontlines, said Alen Simonyan, Vice President of the National Assembly, during a briefing with journalists.
Currently, Pashinyan is meeting with representatives of the leadership of the 'Civil Contract' party. Prior to this, he had meetings with non-parliamentary forces and ambassadors accredited in Armenia. All meetings have been held in a closed format.
“In the near future, Pashinyan will announce certain matters to the public because we have been transparent, and the society should be informed about everything,” said Simonyan. According to him, the Turks and Azerbaijanis are working not only at the border but also on social media.
Commenting on the meeting between the foreign ministers of Russia and Armenia, Simonyan noted that despite the superficial declarations that Armenia-Russia relations are not strong, it evidenced something different – the relations between the two countries are at the highest level. He assured that there is cooperation with all partners regarding the issue of Nagorno-Karabakh, including with the Russian Federation.
To the question of whether the deployment of peacekeepers in Artsakh has been discussed, Simonyan replied that there have been hints and talks regarding this topic, but no such issue has been officially discussed.
Speaking about the recognition of Artsakh, Simonyan stated that it is a critical issue, and they are taking steps to encourage different countries to proceed with recognition.
