Arman Dilyan has been elected as the President of the Constitutional Court
Arman Dilyan has been elected as the President of the Constitutional Court. This was announced by Edgar Ghazaryan, the head of the Court's staff.
Biography
Dilyan was born in 1974 in the village of Getapnya, Ararat region. He graduated from the Faculty of Law of Yerevan State University in 1996. In 2004, he was awarded the scientific title of Candidate of Legal Sciences with a specialization in International Public Law. His dissertation topic was "International Courts and Fundamental Issues of Peaceful Resolution of Interstate Disputes."
Since August 21, 1996, he has worked at the Constitutional Court of Armenia as a first-category specialist in the secretariat, then as an assistant to the president, and subsequently as the head of the department for analyzing individual applications at the Legal Advisory Service.
From September 29, 2012, to April 26, 2013, he served as the acting head of the Legal Advisory Service at the Constitutional Court.
Since April 3, 2006, he has been teaching at the Armenian-Russian (Slavonic) University, focusing on subjects such as "International Law" and "International Justice." From that year until February 2013, he was the head of the International and European Law Department at the Faculty of Law of the Armenian-Russian (Slavonic) University.
On December 12, 2013, Dilyan was appointed as a judge of the Administrative Court of Armenia by a presidential decree.
Since 2015, he has also been teaching at the Armenian School of Advocates in subjects such as "Representation in Administrative Proceedings" and "Representation in Administrative Litigation." On April 28, 2017, he was elected as a member of the Council of Judges by the General Assembly of Judges of Armenia.
Dilyan is also a member of the editorial board of the magazine "Judicial Authority" and the author of several scientific articles. He is married and has two children.
