Today is Erebuni-Yerevan Day: We Will Celebrate Our City's Day Together with Our Common Victory - Hayk Marutyan
Yerevan's Mayor Hayk Marutyan wrote on his Facebook page:
“Dear Yerevan residents, during these days, all our efforts, thoughts, and prayers are directed to Artsakh. In this enormous struggle imposed by the enemy's terrorist armies, each of us has engaged in the sacred work of defending the Homeland and achieving victory in our respective fields. I am confident that our descendants, when remembering these days, will tell stories of heroism dedicated to our boys' feats, as well as about the spirit of unity and devotion that pervades us during this time.
Today is Erebuni-Yerevan Day. It is clear that the festive events have been postponed; we will celebrate our city’s day together with our common victory. So today, let us confirm that by preserving the sacred land of Artsakh, we are also safeguarding the millennium-old walls of the Erebuni fortress, as well as the Opera House, the National Gallery, the Holy Sarkis Church, and the Matenadaran.
After victory, we will rebuild our cities in Artsakh, which have been affected by the barbarians’ assault, and we will make them even more beautiful, proving for the thousandth time that the determination and will to live of the Armenian people are unbreakable. And I am confident that from now on, only festive dates will be added to our calendar. There is no other perspective.
Because our cause is just, and victory is inevitable. Glory to the heroes, glory to the united Armenian people, long live eternal Armenia and the world of Artsakh. We will win.”
