No military cargo found in truck heading to Armenia. Georgia addresses Azerbaijan's fabrication
The Revenue Service of Georgia has officially denied misinformation disseminated by an Azerbaijani news outlet, claiming that a military cargo was prevented from being transported towards Armenia at the "Kazbegi" customs checkpoint.
This is stated in the announcement released by the service.
“During customs control of a truck heading to Armenia, no facts were recorded regarding the discovery of military cargo. Today, one media outlet spread misinformation, suggesting that military cargo was stopped at the "Kazbegi" customs checkpoint,” the statement reads.
The Revenue Service of the Ministry of Finance informs that a truck engaged in international freight transport entered the "Kazbegi" customs checkpoint with a citizen of another country at the wheel from the Russian Federation. Based on risk assessment and analysis conducted by customs officers, the transit cargo was subjected to the appropriate customs controls, considering certain criteria.
Moreover, within the framework of further customs control, no military cargo was found as a result of product documentation, chamber verification, and visual inspection of the goods, and therefore, no violations occurred. The crossing of the Georgian customs border by the mentioned transport vehicle has been confirmed, and it has continued to its next destination,” the service's announcement stated.
