Azerbaijani Accusations Considered as Simple Provocation: MoD Spokesperson
The statements made by the Azerbaijani leadership claiming that the Armenian Armed Forces have attempted to attack in the directions of Hadrut and Jabrail, and fired upon a clearly marked sanitary vehicle with a white flag collecting the bodies in areas under Azerbaijani control, are unfounded and aim to shift the responsibility for violating the humanitarian ceasefire onto the Armenian side. This was stated by the spokesperson of the Armenian Ministry of Defense, Shushan Stepanyan, on Facebook.
“In the joint statement adopted at the level of foreign ministers on October 10, it is clearly indicated that the exchange of prisoners of war and other detained persons, as well as the bodies of the deceased between Artsakh and Azerbaijan, should be carried out with the mediation of the International Committee of the Red Cross and according to its standards, which is currently not taking place due to the ongoing military actions conducted by the Azerbaijani armed forces. We consider the accusations from the Azerbaijani side as a simple provocation and call the attention of interested parties to this fact,” Stepanyan added.
