Artsakh Parliament Calls on Russia and Iran to Establish Joint Anti-Terrorism Center
The National Assembly of the Republic of Artsakh has issued a statement calling on the authorities of Russia and Iran to establish a Joint Anti-Terrorism Center.
“As is known, the authorities in Baku, under the explicit directive of Turkey, initiated another large-scale aggression against the Republic of Artsakh on September 27, resuming active military operations during which international terrorists and representatives of various extremist groups from Syria, Iraq, Libya, and other regions infiltrated the area with the assistance of Turkey. This well-known fact is confirmed not only by internationally recognized organizations and media outlets but also by various officials from a number of states, including Russia, France, Iran, and Syria.
It is evident that international terrorism, taking advantage of the short-sighted and shortsighted policies of Baku's authorities, is attempting to establish a foothold in this region and turn it into a new center of terrorism following Turkey's support after its significant defeat in Syria. This poses an immediate threat not only to Artsakh but also to the security and territorial integrity of neighboring states such as Armenia, Russia, and Iran, creating new zones of instability in the region.
The authorities of Turkey and Baku, driven by the obsession to obliterate Artsakh at any cost, do not even realize that bringing terrorists to this region, protecting them, facilitating the establishment of appropriate bases for them, and creating the corresponding conditions for their operational expansion pose a long-term global threat not only to regional states but also to international security and the very peaceful population of Azerbaijan.
The National Assembly of the Republic of Artsakh, emphasizing the importance of regional peace, security, beneficial cooperation among the countries of the region, and the fight against international terrorism, calls upon the authorities of Armenia, Russia, and Iran to:
- Condemn Azerbaijan’s use of international terrorist groups and their representatives in military aggression against Artsakh.
- Establish a joint Anti-Terrorism Coordination Center to identify international terrorists that have infiltrated this region, their deployment points, and corresponding military bases, and to develop joint neutralization programs.
- Create a joint Anti-Terrorism coalition for the operational and effective physical neutralization of the terrorists and their groups that have infiltrated this region.
