Turkish President Cannot Receive Weapons and Financial Support, Says Bundestag Left Party

Sevim Dağdelen, a member of the German Bundestag's Committee on Foreign Relations and spokesperson for the Left Party on foreign policy, has made a statement emphasizing that the Left Party welcomes direct negotiations surrounding the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. This was reported by Armenpress.

"The Left Party welcomes the direct negotiations between Armenia and Azerbaijan aimed at halting the clashes in the Nagorno-Karabakh region of the Caucasus," the Bundestag committee member stated, deeming a ceasefire and the withdrawal of troops from the line of contact essential for a political resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

Dağdelen stressed that the Left Party demands the federal government to actively support Moscow's mediating dialogue and finally condemn NATO partner Turkey's reckless actions. She stated, "The Turkish president, who supports Azerbaijani attacks in Nagorno-Karabakh through Turkish military forces, military drones, and Islamist mercenaries, and sabotages peaceful resolution efforts, cannot receive assistance in the form of weapons supply and financial aid."
