Power Outages Affect Much of Azerbaijan Due to Mingachevir Hydroelectric Station Accident

The Mingachevir Hydroelectric Station has experienced an accident leading to power outages affecting much of Azerbaijan. A fire broke out last night at one of the country’s largest power plants located in Baku.

Local authorities have reported that firefighters have completely extinguished the fire that erupted at the Mingachevir Hydroelectric Station. However, the supply of electricity in Baku and other areas has not been fully restored. According to Azerbaijani sources, the cities of Baku, Sumgayit, Ganja, Ardashan, and Zaqatala have been left without electricity.
