Azerbaijani Armed Forces Keep Hadrut City Under Fire: Defense Ministry Spokesperson
The Defense Army units are repelling the attacks launched by the enemy on the southern front. This was stated by the spokesperson of the Armenian Ministry of Defense, Shushan Stepanyan, on her Facebook page.
“At the same time, the Azerbaijani armed forces are keeping the city of Hadrut under fire. The statement by the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense that the Armenian side is firing towards the Tartar and Aghdam regions is yet another fabrication,” Stepanyan wrote.
It should be noted that on September 27, the Azerbaijani armed forces launched a large-scale attack in Artsakh, targeting the civilian population as well. As of October 10, the Artsakh Defense Forces have shot down 16 helicopters, 17 planes, 162 drones, and 508 armored vehicles, mainly tanks, along with 82 vehicles, 10 armored personnel carriers, 4 TOS-1A heavy flamethrower systems, 4 BM-30 Smerch, and 1 Uragan multiple rocket launchers.
The enemy has suffered over 4369 casualties, while initial Armenian data indicates 415 victims on their side. The Azerbaijani armed forces have also targeted military and civilian infrastructure in Artsakh and the Republic of Armenia, resulting in the deaths of 2 civilians in Gegharkunik, 20 civilians in Artsakh, with 93 others injured and approximately 5800 properties and infrastructures damaged.
As a result of the Azerbaijani shelling, both foreign and local media journalists have been injured. A state of war was declared in Armenia and Artsakh on September 27. As of 12:00 on October 10, a ceasefire was announced for humanitarian purposes regarding the exchange of prisoners of war and other detained individuals, as well as the bodies of the deceased, mediated by the International Committee of the Red Cross and in accordance with their standards.
