Russian President Begins Security Council Meeting with Discussion on Nagorno-Karabakh
Vladimir Putin has started today’s meeting of the Russian Security Council with discussions on the Nagorno-Karabakh issue.
“We will address the situation directly around our borders, including the circumstances created in the South Caucasus,” said the Russian president at the beginning of the meeting.
Before the start of the session, the Kremlin spokesperson reported that Putin had been working with Baku and Yerevan from the second half of yesterday until late evening on the resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
“As a result, a statement by President Putin was released in the evening, in which he called on the parties to establish a ceasefire for humanitarian purposes, including the exchange of prisoners and the retrieval of the bodies of the deceased,” said Dmitry Peskov.
