The power in Armenia decides on the selection of its senior security officials itself, said Alen Simonyan, the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, in a press briefing. He added, "The news related to issues is a baseless lie." Remember that the decision to dismiss the Director of the National Security Service, Argishti Kyaramyan, was also characterized as a directive from the Russian side.

However, when asked why the NSS director was dismissed, Simonyan replied that he could not answer. "Rest assured, no external factor can be involved," the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly added.
