Soldiers Presented with Medals for Rescuing 7 Encircled Soldiers and Retaking Position

Senior Lieutenant Mihran Avdalyan has been nominated for the 2nd degree "Combat Cross" for participating in an operation to retake one of the combat positions and for taking measures to rescue 7 soldiers who had fallen into encirclement. This information was reported by the Artsakh Defense Army.

Major Hovhannes Ayvazyan has been nominated for the 2nd degree "Combat Cross" for destroying 3 enemy tanks.

Lieutenant Colonel Arman Kostanyan, despite the heavy combat situation, did not retreat and organized the competent defense of his unit, repelling numerous attacks from the enemy and causing them significant losses, thus ensuring the stability of the battalion's defense. For this, he has been nominated for the 1st degree of the "Combat Cross".

Lieutenant Colonel Arsen Khachatryan has also been nominated for the same order for ensuring the stability of defense and inflicting heavy losses on the enemy troops.

It is recalled that on September 27, the Azerbaijani armed forces launched a large-scale attack in Artsakh, targeting the civilian population as well.

As of October 8, Artsakh's armed forces have destroyed 16 helicopters, 17 planes, 145 drones, 496 armored vehicles, mainly tanks, 82 vehicles, 10 armored personnel carriers, 4 "TOS-1A" heavy flamethrower systems, 4 "Smerch" and 1 "Uragan" multiple rocket launcher systems of the enemy.

The enemy has suffered more than 4,069 deaths and over 5,270 injuries. On the Armenian side, preliminary data indicates 361 deaths.

The Azerbaijani armed forces have also targeted military and civilian infrastructure in Artsakh and the Republic of Armenia, resulting in the death of 2 civilians in Gegharkunik, 80 injured civilians in Artsakh, 19 people dead, and about 2,700 properties and infrastructure damaged.

As a result of the Azerbaijani armed forces' shelling, journalists from both foreign and local media have been injured. A state of war was declared in Armenia and Artsakh on September 27.
