The obligations of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) do not extend to Nagorno-Karabakh, unlike Armenia, stated Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the President of Russia. Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin reminded that Armenia is a member of the CSTO and that Russia has certain obligations towards the country.
“These are obligations to ensure security. That is, if a CSTO member state is subjected to any aggression or external attack, in this case, the member states of the treaty are obliged to protect that country,” Peskov responded to reporters' questions regarding what obligations are being referred to.
