Intervention of Third Countries Could Turn Conflict into Regional War

The President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Hassan Rouhani, has expressed concern regarding the potential intervention of third countries in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. According to reports from Armenpress, Rouhani made these comments during a telephone conversation with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.

Rouhani expressed worry that such intervention could escalate the conflict into a regional war. He stated, “Security, stability, and tranquility in the region, especially along the northern borders, are very important to us. This conflict and the unstable situation along the borders should not open the way for the influence of certain terrorist groups.”

The Iranian president also conveyed that Tehran is prepared to take all necessary measures towards resolving the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
