Call for Formation of New International Anti-Terrorism Coalition: President of Artsakh

Call for the formation of a new international anti-terrorism coalition: This was stated by the President of Artsakh, Arayik Harutyunyan, on his Facebook page.

“Today, Artsakh and Armenia have found themselves on the front lines of the fight against international terrorism, literally. However, in our case, the peculiarity is that this enemy, which threatens the existence of global civilization, has emerged against our homeland under the flag of a UN member state, often disguised as the regular army of that state.

In the modern world, where it is literally impossible to hide anything from anyone, everyone has seen and recorded the penetration of the global jihadist terrorist network into Azerbaijan.

It is no longer a secret for any state in the world that the peaceful population of Artsakh and Armenia, our towns and villages, and our right to live freely and determine our destiny are the targets of this monstrous terrorist network.

Turkey, which continues to nourish and manage this network, is today, with the consent of Baku's opportunistic authorities, using Azerbaijan as a tool to create a new hotbed of global terrorism in the South Caucasus.

I am confident that every responsible participant in global political life, whether a state or an international organization, clearly understands the dangerous consequences of such developments. Memories are still fresh in all our minds about the consequences of the jihadist bandits' attempts to create state-like entities in Iraq and Syria.

All countries of the world have a role to play in preventing Turkey's project to turn Azerbaijan into a center of terrorism in the South Caucasus.

Armenia and Artsakh are on the front lines of this struggle today because they have honorably accepted the challenge thrown at us. And we will fight until final victory. However, this is not just an issue for Artsakh and Armenia.

As the president of a state fighting for its independence, I call on the civilized world to actively participate in this struggle. Creating an effective and robust global anti-terrorism coalition is a pressing necessity.
