Armenian Style, Yerevan-Armenia, Armenian Realty and Other Hacked Pages Publish Obvious False Information on Military Operations - NSS

Dear compatriots,

The National Security Service of the Republic of Armenia reports that during these days, personal accounts and pages of some Armenian users on the social network Facebook are being hacked by the adversary. Through these accounts, efforts are being made to create disputes among the Armenian public, to sow discord, to instigate ideological disagreements and to incite panic by disseminating various messages.

In particular, obvious false information regarding military operations is being published on the aforementioned hacked pages, such as “Armenian Style,” “Yerevan-Armenia,” “Armenian Realty,” and others, which contain materials and images that elicit negative emotions among the public. Additionally, there are false announcements regarding some gatherings scheduled for October 8.

There are also instances of sociological surveys being conducted through phone calls from numbers resembling Armenian phone numbers, generated by special software methods, aimed at gaining as much understanding of the actual situation faced by the Armenian side, as well as panic-inducing messages being sent in the same manner.

The National Security Service of the Republic of Armenia urges everyone not to fall for the adversary’s provocations, not to respond to fake phone calls aimed at sociological surveys, to reject the false information received through these means, and to refrain from spreading such information. It is important to remain vigilant and to follow only official information sources.
