Targeted Attacks on the Peaceful Population of Artsakh and Armenia, Ombudsman Reports
The Human Rights Defender has issued a statement addressing the artillery attacks on the civilian population by the Azerbaijani armed forces.
Since September 27, Azerbaijani military forces have been conducting targeted attacks on civilian settlements and the peaceful population of Artsakh and Armenia. It is evident that the intent of these indiscriminate attacks is to inflict maximum harm on residential areas, including casualties and destruction.
This is corroborated not only by the Azerbaijani air force and artillery's targeted strikes and the severe consequences they have caused but also by the continuous use of banned weapons against cities and villages.
Additionally, it should be noted that there is now documented evidence regarding the use of mercenaries, as well as widespread hate speech and calls for violence, including murder, against ethnic Armenians, which are supported by the state.
It is already clear that all of this indicates an aim for ethnic cleansing and an Azerbaijani policy that promotes terrorism against the Armenian population.
