Seven Soldiers Presented for Awards for Their Valor During Combat Operations in Artsakh
Private Karen Aleksanyan, demonstrating high combat mastery and cool-headedness, was able to destroy four enemy drones using a portable air defense system, for which he is nominated for the "For Bravery" medal. His fellow soldiers, Private Martin Baghdasaryan and Makich Agajanian, are nominated for "Combat Service" medals for each destroying two drones.
The achievements of the air defense forces continue, as reported by the Artsakh Ministry of Defense press service. Major Hayaser Dallakyan is nominated for the 2nd degree "Combat Cross" medal for destroying two enemy tanks. Likewise, Junior Sergeant Ashot Esayan has been nominated for the same category of medals for destroying two tanks and two vehicles, and Junior Sergeant Hrach Hayrapetyan is recognized for destroying two enemy tanks.
Major Mikayel Movsisyan has also been awarded the "For Bravery" medal for destroying one enemy tank. Heroic feats continue across all sections of the front line.
It is reminded that on September 27, the Azerbaijani armed forces launched a large-scale attack in Artsakh, targeting also the civilian population. As of October 4, the Artsakh armed forces have destroyed 14 helicopters, 17 planes, 124 drones, 368 units of armored vehicles, primarily tanks, 82 motor vehicles, 10 armored personnel carriers, one "TOS-1A" heavy flamethrower system, 4 "Smerch" and 1 "Uragan" type multiple rocket launchers.
The adversary has incurred over 3,154 casualties and more than 5,270 wounded. On the Armenian side, preliminary data indicates 230 casualties and over 200 wounded.
The Azerbaijani armed forces have also targeted the military and civilian infrastructure of the Artsakh and Republic of Armenia, resulting in the deaths of two civilians in Gegharkunik and 14 in Artsakh. Journalists from both foreign and local media have been injured due to Azerbaijani shelling.
Martial law was declared in Armenia and Artsakh on September 27.
