Russia, USA, and France Urgently Call for Ceasefire: Statement

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian, and US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo have issued a joint statement condemning the "unprecedented and dangerous escalation of violence in and around the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict." This was stated in the foreign ministers’ announcement.

“The foreign ministers firmly emphasize that attacks on civilian infrastructure in Nagorno-Karabakh and in the territories of Armenia and Azerbaijan are becoming a threat to the stability of the region,” the statement reads.

The announcement calls for an immediate ceasefire and a return to the negotiating table based on internationally recognized documents and already existing fundamental principles.
