Masis Mayilyan Sends Letter to Council of Europe Secretary General
On October 5, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Artsakh, Masis Mayilyan, sent an official letter to the Secretary General of the Council of Europe, Maria Pejčinović Burić, regarding the acts of aggression against the Republic of Artsakh conducted by Turkey and Azerbaijan, which actively involve mercenaries from Middle Eastern terrorist organizations.
The letter specifically highlights that Azerbaijan has violated its fundamental commitment undertaken upon joining the Council of Europe to resolve the Azerbaijan-Armenian conflict exclusively through peaceful means. Mayilyan also informed the Secretary General about the gross and massive violations of Azerbaijan's commitments to ensure the right to life.
The letter emphasizes that Turkey is equally responsible for initiating and escalating new military confrontations within the territory of the Council of Europe, as well as for recruiting mercenaries from Middle Eastern terrorist organizations and sending them to Azerbaijan to participate in military operations against the Republic of Artsakh.
Mayilyan urges the Council of Europe to utilize all its capabilities to immediately stop the unjustified violence against the peaceful population of Artsakh, the mass violations of human rights, and the ongoing war crimes.
