Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan Holds Phone Conversation with French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian
On October 5, Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan held a phone conversation with French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian. This information was reported by the official website of the Armenian Foreign Ministry.
According to the statement, the foreign ministers addressed the recent developments in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone. “In this regard, Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan informed his counterpart about the deliberate shelling by Azerbaijan of the capital of Artsakh and major settlements, as well as civilian population and civilian infrastructure. The Armenian Foreign Minister strongly condemned the actions of Azerbaijan's military-political leadership that are accompanied by gross violations of international humanitarian law.
The Foreign Minister expressed deep concern regarding the direct involvement of foreign militant terrorists transferred from the Middle East to Azerbaijan, supported by Turkey, in the hostilities unleashed by Azerbaijan. This involvement undermines regional security and peace.
Both sides emphasized the importance of an immediate cessation of hostilities and the need to take necessary steps within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairmanship,” the statement said.
