18 Civilians Killed in Artsakh. Ombudsperson Releases Names of Victims

As a result of enemy shelling in Artsakh, 18 civilians have been killed to date. The information was provided by the office of the Artsakh Human Rights Defender, which has published an interim report.

According to the report, the deaths were recorded in the cities of Stepanakert, Martuni, Hadrut, and Martakert, as well as in the village of Alashan in the Martakert region and in areas adjacent to the Mets Shen community. A total of around 80 people have sustained injuries, of which 60 have serious injuries. Among them, 48 are men and 12 are women, who have suffered injuries of varying degrees in their lower and upper limbs and face due to shrapnel.

The residents were injured in various places across Artsakh, including in the city of Stepanakert or its adjoining areas, in the city of Hadrut in the Hadrut region, in the communities of Taghasar and Vardashat, in the city of Martuni in the Martuni region, in the community of Spitakashen, in Martakert city, and in the communities of Maghavuz, Nerkhin Horatagh, and Mataghis, as well as in Alashan village and in the Karvachar community of the Shahrour region.

“We inform you that today Azerbaijan has also bombarded the civilian infrastructure and residential buildings in the capital of the Republic of Artsakh, Stepanakert, with heavy missiles and aerial bombs, resulting, according to preliminary information, in three deaths and 10 injuries among civilians, with details being further clarified,” the Ombudsperson’s office stated.

People have died and been injured due to the use of prohibited weapons and methods applied by the Azerbaijani Armed Forces against the civilian population.

The Ombudsperson's office also published data on the civilians who have become victims of Azerbaijan's unleashed military aggression as of October 3:
