There Are Several Ways to Impose Peace: Minister of Foreign Affairs of Artsakh
There are several ways to impose peace, stated the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Artsakh, Masis Mayilyan, listing them. “One is what our army is doing on the battlefield today. The second, when we talk about Turkey and Azerbaijan, is the various international tools available to persuade them, including the possibility of sanctions. In other words, the UN Charter provides for the possibility of stopping the aggressor and suspending their activities. I think the international community is still in the initial phase, and the next steps must be taken until peace is established.”
Mayilyan insisted that Artsakh has not received any proposals for a temporary ceasefire to resolve the issue of recovering the bodies of those killed in the fire zone. “We are in contact with the Red Cross in this regard; if there is a ceasefire, problems related to the bodies should be resolved as they were in 2016. In this regard, we are ready to organize this process,” he said.
Mayilyan also asserted that the will of the Armenian side alone is not enough to stop the war. “Those who started this war, the military aggression, must be the first to stop,” he said.
