The government of Georgia has decided to prohibit the issuance of permits for the transportation of military cargo to Armenia and Azerbaijan due to the resumption of military operations in the unrecognized Nagorno-Karabakh Republic. This was announced by the Secretary of the National Security Council and Minister of Internal Affairs, Vakhtang Gomelauri, during a press briefing on Saturday.
“Due to military operations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, the government of Georgia has temporarily suspended the issuance of permits for the transport of military cargo through its territory in both land and air directions. The parties have already been informed about this,” Gomelauri stated.
