Restrictions on Movement from Armenia to Artsakh Take Effect Today with Certain Exceptions
The Police of Armenia informs that starting today, the exit of individuals and vehicles from Armenia to Artsakh will be restricted, with certain exceptions.
The police's announcement is presented below:
Beginning on October 2, 2020, at 14:00, movable checkpoints will be set up in the border area of the M-12 interstate highway.
At the same time, the exit of individuals and vehicles from the Republic of Armenia to Artsakh will be prohibited, except for transports carried out for the needs of the Defense Army and the Artsakh government, as well as in individual cases based on permissions granted by the Armenian government.
In particular:
- High-ranking officials as defined in paragraph 1 of Article 10 of the Law on Protocol
- Personnel and vehicles of the Ministry of Defense
- Personnel and vehicles of the Ministry of Emergency Situations
- Personnel of the Ministry of Health
- Police of the Republic of Armenia
- Representatives of the Artsakh government and their vehicles
For state agencies, transport will be allowed based on permissions granted by the Prime Minister's office; for physical and legal individuals, transport will be allowed only with permission from the Police of Armenia.
It should be noted that earlier today, the Armenian government issued a statement announcing that due to security concerns under martial law in Armenia and Artsakh, a number of restrictions and regulations will come into effect starting from October 2 at 14:00.
