International Recognition of Artsakh is an Inevitable and Logical Outcome of the Conflict: Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Artsakh

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Artsakh has issued a statement regarding the joint call by the leaders of the co-chairing countries of the OSCE Minsk Group.

“We welcome the joint statement of the presidents of Russia, the USA, and France, the co-chairing countries of the OSCE Minsk Group, which strongly condemns the escalation of violence in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone and calls for the immediate cessation of military operations. This statement by the leaders of three permanent members of the UN Security Council definitively reinforces the collective position of the international community regarding the unacceptability of the use of force, which has been previously expressed by all members of the UN Security Council, the UN Secretary-General, the Secretary-General of the Council of Europe, the current president of the OSCE, and the leaders of EU member states and governments.

By continuing to reject the international community's calls to restore peace in the region, Azerbaijan and Turkey increasingly position themselves as rogue states, openly defying the universal rules and norms that govern the civilized world. Azerbaijan and Turkey not only stubbornly exhibit reluctance to comply with the international community's demands for an immediate ceasefire, but they also systematically and deliberately increase the intensity of military operations. The Defense Army of Artsakh, which is currently effectively fighting against international terrorism, will continue to take all necessary measures to compel Azerbaijan to cease military operations, thereby contributing to the international efforts for the restoration of peace in the region.

The Republic of Artsakh will continue to pursue a responsible policy in the area of security aimed at ensuring and strengthening lasting peace and stability in the region.

At the same time, we believe that in the conditions where Azerbaijan and Turkey are openly forming a military alliance with terrorist organizations declared outside the law by the civilized world, it is imperative that the entire international community undertake collective measures, including coercive ones, to stop the illegal actions of Ankara and Baku that pose a threat to the global community.

In this regard, we again emphasize that the international recognition of the independence of the Republic of Artsakh will not only allow for the immediate cessation of aggression but will also exclude the possibility of its recurrence in the future. The international recognition of the Republic of Artsakh is an inevitable and logical outcome of the resolution process, which is not disputed by the international community, as the independence of Artsakh has a solid legal, legitimate, and just foundation. The sooner the process of international recognition of the Republic of Artsakh begins, the sooner the long-awaited and lasting peace in the region will be achieved.
