We cannot allow the phantom of the Ottoman Empire to return. This was stated by President Armen Sarkissian at the international cybersecurity conference CYBERSEC2020, addressing the recent military provocations by Azerbaijan.

“You may have heard that Azerbaijan initiated operations at the borders of Nagorno-Karabakh on Sunday. I must declare that NATO member Turkey fully supports Azerbaijan with its electronic drones, cyberattacks, as well as personnel including advisors, mercenaries, and even F-16 fighters. This represents in some way the return of a ghost for every Armenian living in the world. And if that ghost was originally virtual, it has now become material. Why do I call it a ghost? It is the ghost of the Ottoman Empire, which planned and executed the Armenian Genocide 105 years ago. Under no circumstances can we allow that genocide to repeat itself.”
