Azerbaijani Side Has Not Requested to Retrieve Bodies, Says Artur Hovhannisyan

The Azerbaijani side has not approached the Armenian side with a request to retrieve the bodies of servicemen lost during the recent clashes along the Artsakh-Azerbaijan contact line, said Defense Ministry representative Artur Hovhannisyan at a press conference.

“The Defense Army released a video showing numerous bodies of Azerbaijani servicemen. It has been officially announced that they have left several dozen bodies on the Armenian side,” Hovhannisyan noted.

Throughout the entire length of the contact line with Artsakh, Azerbaijan began active shelling early in the morning on September 27. Civilian areas, including the capital Stepanakert, are also being shelled. The first casualties from Azerbaijan's offensive were in the Martuni region, including one woman and one child. The Armenian side reports 31 dead and around 200 wounded with varying degrees of injuries. The adversary has also shelled schools, including those in Stepanakert.
