Statement from 14 Political Parties in Armenia

14 political parties operating in Armenia have released a joint statement regarding the border situation. The statement is presented below:

“Grossly violating the international commitments repeatedly undertaken, the trilateral agreement on the ceasefire from 1994, as well as disregarding the appeal of the UN Secretary-General to cease military operations during the pandemic, on the morning of September 27 of this year, the Azerbaijani army launched an attack along the entire contact line with Artsakh. With the overt support and encouragement of Turkey, Azerbaijan has initiated large-scale military operations against the Republic of Artsakh, targeting also residential areas and peaceful civilians. The Defense Army steadfastly carries out its mission to confront the adversary.

At this crucial moment, the primary task is to unify the pan-Armenian strength and provide a unified national response to the aggressor. We, the political parties operating in the Republic of Armenia, fully support the Armenian army and stand by the Republics of Armenia and Artsakh in exposing and condemning the latest aggression of the enemy on the international stage.

We call on the entire Armenian community to unite around these objectives, ensuring a strong rear and cohesion. We appeal to international organizations, the public, and states to condemn the latest war unleashed against the Armenian people by Azerbaijani-Turkish forces. Victory is ours.”
