Will Gagik Tsarukyan Be Arrested? The Court Is About to Announce Its Decision

The Court of General Jurisdiction of Yerevan, presided over by Judge Mnatsakan Martirosyan, will soon announce its decision regarding the request from the National Security Service (NSS) investigator to select arrest as a measure of restraint against the leader of the Prosperous Armenia Party, Gagik Tsarukyan.

It is worth noting that the examination of the NSS investigator's request lasted about 9 hours. Tsarukyan's attorneys had filed a motion for the judge's recusal, which was denied.

Speaking to reporters after the examination of the request, Tsarukyan's attorney, Yerem Sargsyan, noted that the basis for arrest, according to the prosecution, is the risk that Tsarukyan could impede the progress of the criminal case.
