Turkey Seeks to Strip Garod Paylan and 6 Others of Parliamentary Immunity
The Chief Prosecutor of Ankara announced on September 25 that a process has been initiated to strip seven members of the pro-Kurdish People's Democratic Party (HDP) of their parliamentary immunity. These individuals were part of the Executive Council of the HDP during the events in Kobani.
According to Armenpress, citing the Turkish Tele1 television channel, it is known that the list includes parliamentarians Garod Paylan, Saruhan Oluç, Meral Danış Beştaş, Huda Kaya, Sezai Temelli, and Serpil Kemalbay.
The first response to the mass arrests came from the Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank, who stated that an anti-terror operation has been launched against the pro-Kurdish party members who were part of the Executive Council of the HDP during the Kobani events.
